Giving account of his stewardship, opening doors of Investments, Creating Opportunities & assuring progress for Edo People even in the diaspora
The administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has once again demonstrated its commitment to global partnerships with a strategic working visit to London, United Kingdom.
The visit was very symbolic as it gave account of the stewardship of His Excellency, showcasing & separating practical Governance from propaganda revealing governance laced with vision.
As a participant I washed how the crowd applauded Mr Governor watching the visuals of his developmental strides enshrined in the SHINE AGENDA. From Security to healthcare to infrastructure where both the old and young were seen dancing and hipping praises on His Excellency to the admiration of the diasporas.
In the area of Education, everyone watched in admiration how old and neglected schools now wear a new look simply because a man with empathy sent by God to rescue Edo emerged as Governor.
Before the Edo diaspora community, His Excellency positioned Edo State as the new investment destination in Nigeria offering free land to any Edo individual who is ready with a visible plan to establish any industry in Edo State as a sign of his commitment and that of the Edo State Government. Other areas of his discussion centred on Government impact in Agriculture and Technology proposing his plan to establish Cisco academy in Edo State to train youth to compete with their peers globally.
One of the highpoint was seeing Edo sons and daughters in the UK who came in their numbers presenting gifts and several awards to the Governor in appreciation of his notable programs and policies that have brought relief to Edo State. The diaspora remains a critical engine for development and Senator Monday reiterated his commitment to carry them along in the journey of Edo’s progress.
This London visit will translate into real benefits for our people, as the Security architecture already established and displayed will give all diasporas comfort to come back home and invest which will in turn create jobs for our youths.
Edo is also being rebranded as safe, open for business, and ready for development,a catalyst for more impact even for foreign investors.
Even when the atmosphere became rowdy with excitement of people trying to snap and get videos of His Excellency, I watched how he took time to answer questions from those who were orderly in order to maintain decorum in the hall unlike others who may choose not to take questions as a result.
Indeed a leader who cares and wants to feel the pulse of his people in all situations.
The visit will also improve DIASPORA REMITTANCE & SUPPORT as stronger ties with Edo people abroad means more support for community projects and inflows back home.
