CONSULTATIVE MEETING OF THE OBIDIENT MOVEMENT IN LONDON
I was honoured to participate in a strategic consultative meeting of the Obidient Movement in London, bringing together committed Nigerians in the diaspora who remain steadfast in their belief in a new, accountable, prosperous, and inclusive Nigeria.
It was inspiring to engage with distinguished leaders of the movement, including Isaac Fayose and Dr. Moses Paul. Their insights, passion, and commitment enriched our deliberations and further strengthened our shared determination to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s political development.
Our discussions focused on three key areas: strengthening the structure of the movement, deepening civic engagement both at home and abroad, and mobilising Nigerians in the diaspora to play a more active and coordinated role in nation-building.
We examined practical strategies for sustaining advocacy, supporting credible candidates, and ensuring that the voices and perspectives of Nigerians in the diaspora are meaningfully reflected in policy conversations and national development efforts.
We also deliberated extensively on the urgent need for transparency, electoral integrity, accountability, and leadership that places the welfare and aspirations of the people above personal or partisan interests. The consensus was clear: Nigeria’s progress requires competence, character, integrity, and a renewed commitment to public service.
The atmosphere throughout the meeting was one of unity, clarity, and unwavering optimism. The engagement reaffirmed that distance is not a barrier to nation-building. Whether at home or abroad, our responsibility to the Nigerian project remains the same.
The Obidient Movement continues to represent a new political consciousness, one that rejects division, demands accountability, and believes that Nigeria can be governed differently for the benefit of all its citizens.
I sincerely appreciate everyone who attended and contributed meaningfully to the discussions. The ideas, recommendations, and commitments reached in London will be documented and translated into concrete actions in the weeks ahead as we continue to build momentum toward the next electoral cycle.
The journey toward a new Nigeria requires consistency, collaboration, courage, and collective responsibility. I remain committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure that Ovia Federal Constituency, Edo State, and Nigeria at large benefit from purposeful representation, accountable leadership, and people-centred governance.
The work continues. Every voice matters. Together, a new Nigeria is possible.
