EDO SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT 2027: WHY OGBEIDE-IHAMA IS VYING FOR THE SEAT.
…TO DO MORE, FOR MORE

My dear people of Edo-South, in quiet moments, away from the noise of politics, I often reminisce about what representation truly meant during my time in service. I remember the faces… the market women whose small businesses we helped grow, the young students who found hope through our scholarship initiatives, the preservation of our culture through programmes for our children, the elderly who simply wanted to be seen and heard, and the countless families whose lives we touched in ways both big and small.
Today, many of our people feel disconnected from that kind of true leadership they desire and need. There is a growing sense that the voice of Edo-South is not as strong, as present, or as effective as it should be. I feel that pain deeply because I have seen what is possible when representation is done right; when leadership is people-centered, accessible, and committed to tangible results.
You entrusted me twice with the mandate to represent Oredo Federal Constituency, and together, we made history, winning from the opposition and becoming the first person to earn re-election in that constituency.
Beyond the elections, we built something more enduring: a culture of service that touched women, empowered youth, supported children, uplifted families, and gave many a renewed sense of belonging. That experience, combined with my continued service at the highest levels of public and corporate responsibility, has prepared me for a greater assignment.
Everywhere I go across Edo South – from Egor to Ikpoba-Okha, from Ovia North-East to Ovia South-West, from Uhunmwode to Orhionmwon, I hear the same quiet question: Can we feel that kind of representation again? My answer is simple – yes, we can. And we must.
It is for this reason that I humbly, but firmly, declare my intention to contest for the Senate seat representing Edo-South Senatorial District. I am stepping forward to restore the true meaning of representation, to reconnect leadership with the people, to reignite hope, and to ensure that no community feels forgotten. What we achieved in one constituency, we can deliver across the four constituencies in Edo-South.
Join me, as I aspire to do more, for more; and give our land of royalty the visibility and influence it deserves in the Red Chambers.
