Today’s Topic: Flood Safety — NEVER WALK OR DRIVE THROUGH FLOODWATER

Floodwater can be deeper, faster and more dangerous than it looks. A few centimetres of moving water can knock a person off their feet, while deeper water can sweep a vehicle away.

If you meet a flooded road, street or footpath, **turn back and use a safer route. Do not attempt to test the depth with your feet or drive through moving water.

Floodwater should never be underestimated. What looks shallow may hide open drains, damaged roads, sharp objects or strong currents. Walking or driving through floodwater can put your life and the lives of others at serious risk.

If the road is flooded, do not take the chance. Turn back and find a safer route.

Know the Risk. Take Action. Stay Safe and have a beautiful Sunday
