Gov Okpebholo Appoints Ilaboya as Special Adviser on Grassroots Sports Mobilization
The Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Hon. Frank Areguame Ilaboya as Special Adviser to the Governor on Grassroots Sports Mobilization.
The appointment, contained in a letter dated October 9, 2026, with reference No. SGA.15/Vol.XVIII/1116 and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., takes effect immediately.
In an appreciation message to the Governor, Hon. Ilaboya expressed profound gratitude to Governor Okpebholo for finding him worthy of the appointment, describing it as not just a personal honour but a recognition of the importance of grassroots sports development in the state.
“I am deeply humbled and grateful for this rare privilege to serve under your people-centred administration,” Ilaboya stated.
He also extended special appreciation to his party leader, brother and benefactor, High Chief Lucky Ohimai, AKA Tarex, the APC Apex Leader in Owan West Local Government Area, for his unwavering support, leadership and belief in his capacity.
Ilaboya further thanked the good people of Owan West LGA, his political family, friends and well-wishers across Edo State for their congratulatory messages, prayers and show of love since the announcement.
The newly appointed Special Adviser promised to discharge his duties diligently with total commitment and loyalty, and to take his job description to the next level in line with the SHINE Agenda of the Governor, to discover, nurture and project grassroots talents across Edo State.
