Rt. Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu (Majority Leader ), Others Present As Edo Assembly Mourns With Igueben Lawmaker Over Father’s Death.
Members of the 8th Edo State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, have paid a condolence visit to Hon. Eugene Ojie Inegbeboh of Igueben Constituency over the death of his father, Elder D.S. Inegbeboh JP.
The lawmakers visited the Inegbeboh family at their country home to identify with them in their moment of grief and to honour the memory of the family patriarch.
Addressing the family, Speaker Agbebaku described death as “a debt all must pay,” but said it becomes most painful when it comes.
Quoting Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 “To everything there is a season… a time to be born and a time to die” the Speaker noted that death cannot be bought with money. He thanked God for the 82 years Elder Inegbeboh lived, adding that he lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation.
“He achieved a lot and will be remembered for his good deeds. What this family has lost, God will restore to you tenfold. The 8th Assembly stands with you and will fully participate in the funeral activities,” Agbebaku assured.
Majority Leader, Rt. Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu, including former Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Maria Edeko, offered prayers for the family, while members of the Assembly signed the condolence register in honor of the deceased.
The visit highlighted the unity and brotherhood that exist among members of the 8th Assembly.
