FROM OREDO TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY: THE REPRESENTATION QUESTION
VOTE
Dr Paddy Emmanuel
APC Candidate
Oredo Federal Constituency House Of Representatives.
Politics is ultimately about people, and representation is meaningful only when the voices of the people are effectively carried to the places where decisions are made.
The candidacy of Dr. Paddy Emmanuel Iyamu for the Oredo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives presents an opportunity to reopen the conversation about what Oredo expects from its representative at the National Assembly.
Dr. Iyamu, a former SUBEB Chairman and former Edo State Commissioner for Education, formally declared his intention to contest the Oredo seat in March 2026 and subsequently emerged as the APC candidate following the party’s primary.
Beyond party colours, the central issues for voters remain clear: quality representation, legislative effectiveness, constituency development, youth opportunities, education, infrastructure, economic empowerment, and responsible engagement with the people.
The National Assembly requires representatives who understand local realities while contributing meaningfully to national legislation and oversight.
As Oredo approaches another electoral decision, citizens have the opportunity to scrutinise every candidate and ask the right questions:
What is the vision? What is the plan? What is the track record? And how will the mandate be used to serve the people?
A stronger and more united Oredo must be built on informed participation, responsible leadership, and accountable representation.
