We’ll Explore Legal Options Over Osun Election – APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has said it would consider legal options after losing Saturday’s governorship election to incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, as the party urged its supporters to remain calm.
The party’s director of media and information, Kola Olabisi, said in a statement on Sunday that the leadership was studying the results and would consult its legal team before deciding on the next steps.
According to the statement, the party believes an election is not fully concluded until all legal avenues available under the Electoral Act 2026 have been exhausted.
“An election cannot be said to have been concluded without exploring all constitutionally allowed legal opportunities to correct anomalies observed in the process, as enshrined in the Electoral Act 2026, as amended,” the statement read.
The APC said it remained committed to the rule of law and would not be pressured into abandoning its legal rights.

It described INEC’s declaration of the results as a new development in the state’s political history.
Olabisi called on party members to remain peaceful and avoid responding to provocation from members of the ruling party.
The statement also appealed to the Nigeria Police Force to protect APC members and supporters from alleged molestation.
“The current situation in the political history of the state is a passing phase which will soon become part of history, as justice shall be done accordingly,” the statement said.
