His side. Her side. And the FACTS!
A husband comes online to tell his story, and suddenly, his wife becomes the devil.
A wife shares her version, and immediately, her husband becomes the most wicked man on earth.
And off go the online in-laws, carrying a one-sided story to the marketplace, judging, insulting, cursing and condemning people they have never met! ๐
What happened to hearing both sides?
People tell stories from their perspectives. Some leave out important details, some are economical with the truth, and others deliberately manipulate narratives to attract sympathy.
Interestingly, some online in-laws become angrier than the person telling the story! ๐
Tomorrow, the couple may reconcile, but the insults and reputational damage remain.
Not everyone who speaks is telling the whole truth, and not everyone who keeps quiet is guilty.
Of course, genuine victims of abuse deserve to be heard, protected and supported. But empathy should never replace discernment or wisdom.
Dear online in-laws, before you become a weapon in someone else’s marital battle, remember: there is his side, her side, and the FACTS!
Why are we so quick to take sides in battles we know so little about?
Shalom!
